Syphilis
A bacterial sexually transmitted infection with distinct stages: the initial painless sore (chancre), the secondary stage with a rash on the body and palms, and latent stages detected through blood tests (early and late latent).
It can be cured with appropriate treatment at any stage — «treated syphilis» describes the state following therapy confirmed by blood tests. Screening of partners is essential.
