Androgenetic alopecia
This is the most common form of hair loss: a progressive thinning of the hair, hereditary and hormonal in origin, which affects men and women in different patterns.
The diagnosis is made in consultation, using trichoscopy. There are medical treatments that halt the progression and stimulate the existing hair, and hair transplantation may be an option in selected cases — the earlier the assessment, the more options there are.
