Frontal fibrosing alopecia

A form of scarring alopecia in which the hairline gradually recedes at the forehead and temples, often with loss of the eyebrows — most common in women after the menopause.

Early diagnosis is crucial: treatment halts the progression, but hair lost in the scarred areas does not grow back.
