The most aggressive skin cancer, arising from melanocytes. The warning signs: asymmetry, irregular borders, several colours, growth (the ABCDE rule).

Detected early, cure rates are very high — hence the importance of dermoscopic screening and prompt consultation whenever a mole changes.
