Telogen effluvium
Increased, diffuse hair loss occurring weeks to months after a 'trigger' — fever, surgery, childbirth, restrictive diets, intense stress or certain medications.
It is usually reversible: once the cause is identified and resolved, the hair recovers over the following months. Trichoscopy helps to distinguish it from other causes of hair loss.
