Basal cell carcinoma

The most common skin cancer — and the one with the best prognosis. It grows slowly, almost never spreads to other organs, and appears on chronically sun-exposed areas as a small pearly "spot" that does not heal.

Complete surgical removal is curative in the great majority of cases; the earlier it is treated, the simpler the surgery.
